Give the People of Paya a Voice
In addition to many international and regional projects, our current project in Colombia is especially close to our hearts. Together with ABC Colombia, we are committed to sustainably improving the lives and education of children in the remote communities of La Unión and Milagros near Paya.
Our desire to document and share the lifestyle and wonderful people of the region is now becoming a reality thanks to the support of Jacob and his company, Watson Earth Production. Jacob, an experienced videographer and a friend of our organization, has generously offered to accompany us to Colombia and film the lives of the local people. In February 2025, the journey will begin, resulting in a 5-6 episode documentary about life in Paya.
This documentary will give the people of Milagros and La Unión a voice, highlight their challenges, and showcase how Mission Positivity is driving positive change on the ground. Thanks to your generous donations, we have already achieved a lot: we have provided a speech therapist for the children, organized eye tests, and, in collaboration with Salud a la Escuela, are working to provide glasses for children with vision impairments.
We need your help to make this documentary a reality and reach our funding goal of €3,500. This amount covers several key areas:
- Pre- and Post-Production (approx. €2,000):
This includes expenses for essential equipment such as large hard drives, additional camera batteries, microphones, drones, and a generator, as well as post-production costs like color correction, sound mixing, and the composition of an original soundtrack. - Transportation and Accommodation (approx. €1,500):
Off-road vehicles are required to reach the remote communities. Additionally, funds will be needed for accommodation in Bogotá, travel to Yopal and Paya, and meals, which will be provided by host families in the communities that will accommodate our team during filming.
Jacob and our Mission Positivity team are working voluntarily, but we need these funds to bring the project to life.
