Our successful donation campaign for the orphanage in Venezuela

Celebrating what we achieved together for the children in Araira

At the beginning of December, together with you, we launched a special fundraising campaign with one goal in mind: to give the children at the orphanage in Araira, Venezuela, an unforgettable Christmas. The orphanage is run by Sister Maria Olga, who has been working tirelessly for the children for many years.

Sister Maria Olga is now 78 years old and has dedicated her life to supporting children and women in need, despite limited resources and challenging circumstances. Over the years, she has provided protection and a sense of home to countless children at the orphanage. Many of them are now grown up, with families of their own, school degrees, and stable jobs.

Despite her age, she remains deeply committed to continuing her work and giving children without parents or from difficult backgrounds a real chance for a better future. However, financial resources are often scarce, making it difficult to cover even basic necessities, let alone provide a festive Christmas meal or small gifts.

More support than we ever expected

What happened next truly moved us: within a short period of time, we were able to raise donations totaling 1,230 euros. For Sister Maria Olga, this amount is something truly special – it is the largest sum of direct donations the orphanage has received in the past 18 years.

Thanks to your support, it was possible to give the children a beautiful Christmas celebration with a festive meal and small gifts. Beyond that, the donations have also helped secure financial support to continue providing for the children in their daily lives.

With the funds raised, Sister Maria Olga can now not only cover essential needs such as food and clothing, but also offer the children special experiences outside the orphanage – something that is usually not possible due to lack of resources. The children have already enjoyed a group trip to the zoo and were filled with joy. More outings are already being planned.

Ongoing challenges and how you can help

However, the support does not end here. The orphanage itself is in urgent need of renovation. Over the past years, Sister Maria Olga has overcome many challenges on her own, but due to her age and the lack of helping hands, important renovation work can no longer be continued without support.
