Help for an Orphanage in Venezuela

Together for the Children in Caracas

Since the end of 2024, we have been supporting an orphanage in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. The orphanage is run by Sister Maria Olga, who tirelessly and voluntarily dedicates herself to the well-being of the children and teenagers living there. The orphanage relies on the support of volunteers and donations from individuals and the church to provide for the children’s daily needs.

Our connection to the orphanage was established through a friend of our organization who is originally from Venezuela and initiated the support effort for the institution. Currently, the orphanage is home to eight children, aged between two and seventeen years, who were taken in due to various circumstances. Some have lost their parents, while others come from difficult family situations where their care could not be ensured. At the orphanage, they now find protection, security, and a new perspective.

During our conversation with Sister Maria Olga, it quickly became clear that air conditioning units were urgently needed in the sleeping and common areas. Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to purchase and install a total of five air conditioning units. These units help the children sleep better during the hot nights and provide more comfortable temperatures during the day. In Caracas, daily high temperatures typically range between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius, but they can rise significantly higher. Anyone who has experienced such temperatures for an extended period knows how exhausting the constant heat can be. With the installation of the air conditioning units, we have made an important contribution to sustainably improving the daily lives of the children and caregivers.

We would like to continue supporting the orphanage in the future and enable further purchases for the children. Regular events held at the Gecko Lounge in Koblenz help finance these projects. In collaboration with Perrea Sola and Sabor Latino, we organize parties featuring Latin American music such as Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, and Reggaeton. The proceeds from these events go directly towards supporting the orphanage.
