Join the team at the dog shelter in the mountains of Morocco
If you’ve been following our work for a while, you’ve probably heard of Leeny and her shelter Beldi Dog Rescue! Six years ago, she left everything behind in Germany and founded the shelter in the Rif Mountains of Morocco, about 115 km from Tangier. Since then, she has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of street dogs and give them a better future.
This shelter is especially close to our hearts, because it was our very first mission after our founding in 2022. Our journey started with Leeny and the dogs. Since then, we’ve visited the shelter several times and are proud to maintain a close connection.
But as incredible as Leeny’s work is, she can’t do it all alone. That’s why she regularly looks for volunteers who want to support the shelter!
What can you expect?
Your tasks will be diverse and rewarding:
- Help train the dogs to improve their chances of adoption
- Rescue dogs from the streets of Morocco
- Take care of the grounds: cleaning, feeding, walking the dogs
- And of course: playtime and cuddles
What should you bring?
- A big heart for dogs ❤️
- Team spirit and a desire for new experiences
- No fear of getting dirty, with over 150 dogs, it comes with the job!
